A two-day workshop featuring talks by early-career philosophers and cognitive scientists.
Philosophy of medicine explores foundational, conceptual, and methodological issues in medical theory, biomedical research, and clinical practice, including questions about the nature of health, disease, diagnosis, explanation, and evidence, as well as the structure and aims of medical knowledge. Construed broadly, philosophy of medicine also encompasses adjacent fields such as bioethics, the philosophy of pain, the philosophy of disability, and the social epistemology of medicine and healthcare. In an even wider sense, it includes experimental and interdisciplinary approaches to exploring these topics.
