David W. Millman

David Millman '23 is a senior from Richmond, Virginia studying government and history. He is Dartmouth's Student Body President, a sexual violence prevention advocate, and a former candidate for local office here in Hanover. He serves as the only student member of the New Hampshire Governor's Task Force against Campus Sexual Violence, is a board member for SVPP at Dartmouth, and a SAPA! His freshman year at Dartmouth, he helped lead the push for legislation to provide more resources for survivors of sexual violence in the New Hampshire Statehouse, and has been serving as the State Co-Director of the national non-profit the Every Voice Coalition. In Student Government, David led the effort to reestablish the student food pantry, put on community town halls around issues like mental health, dining, and voting, and has tried to use social media, mainly Instagram, to publicize important deadlines, events, and updates to better inform the Dartmouth community. This past Spring, he was the sole author of an approved zoning district in the Town of Hanover that helps ease the housing crisis in the region. He has worked in an ice cream shop and loves playing basketball at Alumni Gym, even though he is not very good! David hopes to attend law school and focus in housing, equity, and election law.
