Please join us for the Dartmouth College Case Symposium as we commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Supreme Court case Trustees of Dartmouth College v. Woodward. The event is open to the entire Dartmouth community and will include panels and presentations by nationally renowned constitutional law scholars, Supreme Court advocates, and students completing a Winter Term course about the case.

A fee of $25 includes all sessions, a Friday evening reception at the Hopkins Center for the Arts, and lunch on Saturday. 

Registration for the session "Reargument of Trustees of Dartmouth College v. Woodward" on March 1 is now full. Additional seats will be made available on the day of the event with seating on a first-come first-served basis until capacity is reached. Overflow viewing in an adjacent room will be made available.

Former Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal ’91 and Former Solicitor General Greg Garre ’87 will also reargue the case before a panel of seven distinguished alumni/ae judges. Tom Burack ’82 will perform Daniel Webster’s famous peroration: “It is, Sir, as I have said, a Small College ….”

9–10:30 a.m. - Panel One: From the Contract Clause to Due Process Panel
10:45 a.m.–12:15 p.m. - Panel Two: The American University, Public and Private
12:30–1:15 p.m. - Reception and Networking Event
1:15-2 p.m. - Panel Three: Supreme Court Practice, Then and Now
2-2:15 p.m. - Conclusion of Symposium: Tom Burack '82 performs Daniel Webster’s famous oration
